We are now officially in the final week of our “little cowboys losing pounds to gain £s challenge!”
I was very touched when Sarah came up with the idea in April this year that she would lose weight to raise money for the Cystic fibrosis Trust in honour of our Joe’s first birthday in June.
So much so that I decided to join her on her weight loss journey. The support we have received has been amazing and so far we have raised over £500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust! But we still have time to raise just that little bit more!
Sarah has done amazingly and has reached her target weight loss of 1 and 1/2 stones (21 pounds) ahead of schedule! I have also lost 21 pounds!
To read about the challenge- why it was started and how to donate please visit the virgin money giving page here.
Sarah looks fantastic and has managed to continue losing weight even after several birthdays, tea parties, hen-do’s and other cake laden festivities lying in her wake!
We are so proud of her and all she has achieved. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a charity that is extremely close to our hearts- without their research, advice, help and support fighting CF would be even more of a challenge. We are so touched that the CF Trust was Sarah’s charity of choice and that she would put herself through this weight loss challenge all in honour of our son Joe. It was totally unprompted and unexpected- something that she did and chose to do all by herself.
All the fundraising she has done really means a lot to us- I can’t really put into words how deeply moved I am by her efforts and for even thinking of us at all. Cystic Fibrosis is a terrible and unfair condition that has a real negative impact on sufferers lives, and on the lives of the families and friends who support those sufferers.
Some days Cystic Fibrosis is really hard. It’s terrifying and devastating as a mother to think about what CF could mean for my son’s future. (To our story so far click here.)
Kind, generous people like Sarah really help families like mine to believe in a better future- acts of generosity and selflessness like Sarah’s give us faith that there is good in the world and people care no matter how dark the future may sometimes seem, and charities such as the CF Trust who work tirelessly to raise awareness and find a cure are so so important.
So here is a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Sarah for all she has achieved so far and a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far- and remember its not too late! 6 DAYS TO GO!
So if you would like to donate to Sarah’s challenge please click on the link below- all monies raised go to the CF Trust. No amount of money is too big or too small every little helps!
