All the presents

This week we have had great fun celebrating Joe’s 2nd Birthday! We just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped to make Joe’s birthday special with well wishes, cards, presents and their presence!

On his actual birthday Joe was taken into the living room to do his usual physio and treatments with daddy (unfortunately CF doesn’t relent even for birthdays and the treatments continue no matter the occasion) while I quickly arranged all his gifts and hung up some decorations.

big pressies!

When Joe came into the room Joe was a little overwhelmed with all of his gifts and all the attention, it took him about 4 hours to open his presents as he wanted to inspect and play with each gift before opening the next one!

In the day we just spent a lot of time playing and exploring the new toys, with a brief break for some tasty lunch and play on the pirate ship playground at Huntley’s.

In the evening we had a little birthday tea with granny, grandpa, nanny and grandad with a surprise visit from uncle Nick, Auntie Leah and Barty Woof Woof!  We all enjoyed tucking in to the Salted caramel and chocolate space rocket cake that I made (recipe to follow in another post)  and Joe had fun staying up late and continuing to play with all his fab gifts.

He loved having Nanny and Grandad to stay for a few days especially as they took him to rascals soft play and grandad clambered through the ball pools and went down the big slide!

On Saturday he had a birthday party with all his “friends” (his cousins, who he calls his friends), granny, grandpa, uncle Rich, Auntie Sarah, Nanny, Grandad and a brief visit from uncle Nick. The whole day was spent laughing, eating, playing and dancing- with party lights, party music, party hats and party poppers it was the perfect day for my little man who is a little party animal!

Today we had a nice relax for father’s day and went to Toys R Us to spend Joe’s £20 birthday money (on toy cars and a big lorry obviously!). All in all a fantastic Birthday fit for my little super hero!

He is a very lucky boy, and I feel very thankful for all our friends and family who show my pride and joy such love and attention. Every gift that is given to him feels like its a gift to me too!
