It’s the end of the summer holidays and Rob is back at work so it’s time to get back into a routine and that includes getting back into the blog!
We’ve had a great six weeks and I’m just going to give you a quick update as to what’s been going on, what we’ve been up to and some future plans!
Like I say we had a great summer holiday- we are very lucky to have Rob at home with us for a whole six weeks and we have been spending a lot of time together as a family going on day trips, muddy walks, sitting on the beach and visiting many a zoo/farm/park!
We also managed to get away for a few days with Granny and Grandpa to a lovely holiday barn in Nantwich and had a great time looking at castles, reading books, playing games, eating ice cream and seeing more zoos!
We also had a great time visiting friends and family and having people stay with us, we went on my Dad and Sandy’s hen and stag do’s at the start of the holiday and had a great time drinking, eating and partying the night away with family- it was great to spend some quality time with my sisters and also spend time with my soon to be step sisters! We also had Dad to stay the night and he spent some quality time with Joe.
We’ve been to stay with nanny and grandad and had lots of fun playing with cousins, going to christenings and playing in the garden.
We had a Crawshaw family friend Rob come to stay with us who met Joe for the first time- they got on like a house on fire! My Rob loved having another bike enthusiast around and we very much enjoyed showing him how to play ZOMBIES!!!! the board game in the evenings!
We also had cute baby Owen and our best mates stay round for 5 days at the end of the holiday. Joe loved seeing baby Owen and held his hand a lot. He also asked “What’s baby Owen doing?” about a million times a day! Despite a few hairy moments with flying hot wheels cars and toddler limbs around baby, plus Joe’s inability to understand the meaning of “use your quiet voice” or “whisper” when baby was asleep we all survived and had a jolly good time- and I got lots of snuggly baby hugs!
In other big news Joe had his first 2 sessions at nursery this week! The first I stayed with him for an hour, on the second he stayed at nursery alone for 1 and 1/2 hours- Rob and I were both up worrying the night before but we needn’t have worried. Joe was straight in there getting involved and when I left him on day two he just said “bye mom!” and hurried off to play without looking back! He never asked for me once! I was a bit teary eyed but soon recovered as me and Rob got to have breakfast out together so everyone’s a winner! He starts nursery two mornings a week next week for 5 hour sessions and I’m going to miss him dreadfully, but am also looking forward to some time to myself. Will probably write a blog about his CF and nursery soon for anyone else in a similar situation.
In other news me and Rob are still training for our 5k Run in less than 3 weeks time! And Sarah is training hard for her half marathon in October- all to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust– please show your support and sponsor Sarah and us by visiting her virgin money just giving account here.
We are looking forward to a great day when my Dad gets married to Sandy on Sunday! And Joe has his yearly review later this month so I will keep you all posted on upcoming events!
Happy September Everyone!
